How private AI works here
The first time you run the remover, your browser downloads a compact neural network (the RMBG segmentation model) from a public model repository. After that, everything — the photo, the AI inference, the result — happens on your own device. There is no upload step, no per-image credit, and no way for anyone to see your photos, because they never leave your browser's memory.

How good is it compared to paid tools?
It uses the same class of image-segmentation networks as commercial services and handles portraits, products and objects well. Complex edges (hair, fur, glass) are where all background removers differ — ours is free, unlimited and private, which is a trade many people happily make.
Why does the first run take longer?
The AI model (~44 MB) is downloaded once and cached by your browser. Subsequent removals start instantly.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, though large photos take longer on older phones. Modern devices with WebGPU support accelerate the model automatically.
